Last week, House Speaker Robert DeLeo announced leadership appointments and committee assignments. We have updated our individual legislator pages to reflect these new appointments and assignments.
The House has 11 bi-partisian standing committees each lead by a chairperson who is appointed by the Speaker of the House. The Senate has 12 bi-partisan standing committees, each lead by a chairperson who is appointed by the President of the Senate.
There are 27 Joint Committees. All are bi-partisan and comprised of members from both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Each committee is headed by both a House and Senate chairperson.
